. . . Not unlike King David of old, Wendell St. Clair has always expressed his deepest emotions in verse. In times of exultation he has written glowing testimonies of the goodness of God. In times of perplexity or distress he has put his questions into rhyme. Then, there have been those frequent quiet times of communion where he has eloquently expressed his love for "the lover of his soul."

From his early youth, Wendell's collaborations (lyrics, he doesn't do melodies) with some of the most gifted composers of their time, have been performed by several generations. Though this author/composer is well past three score and ten, his collection of new music-born psalms bear relevance for the twenty-first century.

Ramona Dicks, his present collaborator, herself a talented and well known Gospel musician, has embellished Wendell's unique lyrics with her distinctive, beautiful melodies. Together with Tom Tomasello, who provided the sparkling orchestrations, this team has produced two albums guaranteed to appeal to those who love the style of yesterday as much as those who groove on the sounds of today.
