They were known
as THE SONGMAKERS, Wendell just fifteen and Audrey just twenty.
They began a song collaboration that lasted for several years. They were stars on Radio,
singing five new songs a week. They both experienced the excitement of seeing their first
song in print one year later! The beginning of two song-writing careers that lasted almost
60 years by the time Audrey passed away in 1996. Of course Audrey became world famous for
her song "His Name Is Wonderful," and a host of other songs that are still being
sung. And while Wendell never achieved the heights that Audrey did, he continued writing,
and publishing, in 1980 he wrote "Lord, You Do All Things Well," which became a
worldwide favorite.
Before her death Audrey and Wendell sat down at a friends house and
reminisced about their careers together and separately. They captured those moments on
video, and AUDREY & FRIEND, the video, is showcased here. |
